How does it work?

Bad Port Out Service by Tune Talk

Chronology of events as follow:

  1. 23/07/2015 – Submitted a port in request to XOX to port my existing number from Tune Talk to XOX
  2. 24/07/2015 – Received an email that my port in request was rejected by Tune Talk due to my NRIC provided is incorrect
  3. 24/07/2015 – Contacted Tune Talk customer service via live chat to check on whether my NRIC and details submitted matches the record in their system. Their customer service confirmed that all details submitted matches their record and request me to email them additional information.
  4. 24/07/2015 – Emailed Tune Talk customer service additional information required and got an response saying all my details matches the records on their system and “sorry for the inconvenience caused”. In the mean time asking me to wait another 24 hour before send another port out request.

What a bad service by Tune Talk as I never have this kind problem when porting out from XOX, Maxis and UMobile before.

Phishing SMS

Received a phishing SMS today saying there was a charge made to my CIMB credit card and asking me to call a number in the SMS. Anyway the SMS turn out to be scam after I call the number at the back of my credit card to confirm. Remember to only call the number behind the credit card.

PB HealthCare

Recently received a call from telemarketer promoting PB Health Care plan. Perhaps my mandarin is bad but the insurance product she is selling is too good to be true whereby guaranteed in no change of premium until maturity (age 70).

Based on my current age of 31, the telemarketer informed that my monthly premium is as follow
Plan 2 – RM81.36 monthly
Plan 4 – RM146.28 monthly

So I did a further check on their Website PB HealthCare but discovered from the PRODUCT DISCLOSURE SHEET that what the telemarketer said is misleading. According to the PDS only Premium of Death Benefits are guaranteed while premium for Lifestyle Disease Benefit and Daily Hospital Income Benefit is NOT guaranteed.

Cleaning Conventional Car Battery

Seeing much white dust developed around my car battery so I decided to clean it up. Items that I used.

  1. Sodium Bicarbonate. You can get this from supermarket (baking section)
  2. Waxco Silicone Spray (optional). This product will prevent white dust from further corroding your metal parts (this is because the spray will act as a film against the white dust & metal and you can get this from your local hardware store. (Mr. DIY etc)
  3. old towel.
  4. Water

Steps

  1. Mix a spoonful of sodium bicarbonate & water inside a bottle (shake well until all the sodium bicarbonate dissolved).
  2. Make sure your car engine is OFF. (No need to disconnect battery wire)
  3. Pour the sodium bicarbonate solution on the white dust. (You will hear some hissing sound which is normal as the acidic white dust react with the sodium bicarbonate)
  4. Repeat step 3 as necessary until all white dust is cleared.
  5. now pour some water over the battery to rinse and use the old towel to dry the battery.
  6. Spray Waxco silicone spray on to the battery terminal and any area previously plagued by white dust. (Make sure no open flame nearby as the spray is highly flammable).
  7. After sprayed with silicone, let it dry for 2 mins.
  8. You can now start your engine and good to go.

I recently bought a new policy from Allianz with a monthly premium of RM115. This plan cover more than 100 critical illness and pay half the sum assured at early stage if diagnosed with critical illness (Carcinoma in situ)

My policy comes with the following:

  • Life Sum Assured- RM5,000
  • Cancer Recovery Benefit – RM70,000
  • Diabetes Recovery Benefit – RM40,000
  • Critical Illness Sum Assured – RM200,000
  • Total and Permanent Disability – RM5,000
